Tafsir
Verse range: 3:95
This means: His truthfulness has become manifest and established regarding the fact that "All food was lawful to the Children of Israel, except what Israel had made unlawful to himself." It is also said: [His truthfulness] regarding the fact that Muhammad—may Allah exalt him and grant him peace—is upon the religion of Abraham, peace be upon him, and that his religion is Islam. It is also said: [His truthfulness] regarding everything He has informed of; and what has been mentioned [specifically] is included within this primarily. In this—as it is said—is an allusion to their explicit lying.
Meaning: The religion of Islam, for you are not following his creed as you claim. It is said: Follow the example of his creed, so that you may rid yourselves of the Judaism that compelled you to lie about Allah and to impose hardships upon yourselves. It is also said: Follow his creed in the permissibility of eating camel meat and drinking their milk, which was lawful for him.
That is: Turning away from all false religions toward the religion of truth, or remaining upright upon what Allah, the Exalted, has legislated of the true religion in terms of his pilgrimage, his rites, his dietary laws, and other matters.
That is: In any matter concerning their religion at all. In this is an allusion to the polytheism of those being addressed. This sentence is a concluding confirmation (tadhil) for what preceded it.
