Tafsir of Ya seen 36:50

"Then they shall not be able to make a bequest" — meaning, concerning any of their affairs when they are among their families.

"Tawsiyah" (a bequest) is in the accusative case (nasb) as the direct object of "yastati‘un" (they are able to). It is also permissible that it be an absolute object (maf‘ul mutlaq) for an implied verb.

"Nor shall they return to their families" — when they are outside their doors. Rather, the blast shall take them by surprise while they are wherever they may be.

"And they shall return to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic" — not to anyone else, glory be to Him. Ibn Muhaysin read yurja‘un in the passive voice. The pronouns refer to those who say, "When will this promise come to pass?" — not in terms of their specific individuals, meaning the people of Mecca who were present at the time of revelation, but rather to all those who deny the Resurrection in an absolute sense.
