Surah As-Saffat 37:13



ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ

And when they are reminded, they remember not.

And when they are reminded, they do not remember.

That is: it is their habit that when they are admonished regarding something, they are not admonished by it; or, when that which proves the truth of the resurrection is mentioned to them, they do not benefit from it due to their dullness and lack of reflection.

The continuity [of this action] is derived from the context of condemnation. Perhaps the use of idha (when) and the conjunction linked to the past tense reinforce this. Ibn Hubaysh recited it as dhakaru (they remembered) with a light kaf.
