Tafsir of As-Saffat 37:140

(140) إذ أبق إلى

(إذ أبق): He fled, and its original meaning is fleeing from one’s master. However, since his flight from his people was without the permission of his Lord—as is most befitting the state of the Prophets, peace be upon them—this term was fittingly applied to him. It is either a metaphor or a synecdoche (majaz mursal) based on the use of a specific term for a general meaning, and the former is more eloquent.

Some of the perfected scholars have said: Ibaq (absconding) is fleeing from a master in such a way that the seeker cannot find him, meaning [the act was performed] with this specific intent. Since he, peace be upon him, fled from his people without the permission of his Lord, Glorified be He, to a place where they sought him but could not find him, the term ibaq was used metaphorically for his flight, based on this specific condition [of being hidden], not based on the first condition [of fleeing from a master].

There is some distance in this, but once one accepts the consideration of this condition according to what some philologists have mentioned—that there is no impediment to considering that specific condition—then the denial of its consideration carries no weight.
