Tafsir of As-Saffat 37:46

"White" is another description for the cup, indicating that it is feminine. Al-Hasan stated that the wine of Paradise is whiter than milk. Ibn Jarir extracted from Al-Suddi that Abdullah recited it as "Yellow," and the wine of this world has been described as such, as in the words of Abu Nuwas:

Yellow, sorrows do not descend into its domain, If a stone were to touch it, it would experience joy.

The well-known opinion is that this refers to its state after being mixed; otherwise, before mixing, it is red, as the poet said:

And red before mixing, yellow after it, It came upon my garments like narcissus and anemones. It resembled the cheek of the beloved, pure, Then they poured a mixture upon it, and it took on the color of a lover.

"Delicious to the drinkers" It is described by the verbal noun (masdar) for the sake of hyperbole, by making it the very essence of pleasure itself. It has also been permitted that "ladhdhah" is the feminine form of "ladh," meaning "delicious," like "tabb" meaning a skilled physician. They cited as evidence his words:

And delicious, like the taste of the Sarakhadi [wine], I left it In the land of the enemies for fear of misfortune.

He means a life as delicious as the taste of wine attributed to Sarakhad, a city in the Levant. Al-Zamakhshari interpreted it as sleep, intending that it is in the meaning of "delicious," which became dominant in referring to sleep, not that it is a rigid noun. His words:

With your delicious discourse, which if you spoke to the lions of the wilderness with it, They would come quickly.

In His saying, "to the drinkers," instead of "for them," there is an indication that the one who drinks it derives pleasure from it, whoever they may be.
