(And indeed, My curse is upon you)

That is: My expulsion from mercy. Regarding the use of "the curse" (al-la‘nah) in Surah Al-Hijr: if the definite article (al) is for reference (al-‘ahd) or a substitute for the possessive pronoun, then the lack of difference between what is there and what is here is evident. If, however, "every curse" is intended, then that is because the curse of those who curse—from the angels and the jinn and mankind—is also from His side, Exalted be He; for they pray against him with the curse of Allah, Exalted be He, and his expulsion from His mercy.

(Until the Day of Recompense)

The Day of Requital and punishment. In this, there is an indication that the curse, with all its utter hideousness, is not sufficient as a requital for his crime; rather, it is a sample of what he shall encounter, continuing until that day. It does not mean that it ceases on that day, as the literal indication of the time limit might suggest—a view attributed to some Sufis—but rather that on that day he shall encounter such varieties of torment and diverse forms of punishment that the curse will be forgotten in comparison, as if it were something that had passed away. Do you not see the saying of Allah, Exalted be He: "Then an announcer will announce among them: 'The curse of Allah is upon the wrongdoers,'" and His saying: "And some of you will curse others"?
