Except, among them, Your chosen servants."

83. Except for Your servants among them, the sincere [ones].
They are those whom Allah, the Exalted, has purified for His obedience and preserved from misguidance. It has also been recited as al-mukhliṣīn (the sincere ones) in the active participle form, meaning those who have purified their hearts or their deeds for Allah, the Exalted.
