Tafsir of An-Nisa' 4:130

"And if they separate [by divorce]..." meaning the woman and her husband. It has also been recited as yatafāraqā [if they part ways]. This implies that if they do not reconcile and no agreement is reached between them in any way—neither through settlement nor otherwise—and separation occurs between them by divorce,

"...Allah will enrich each [of them] from His abundance." Meaning, He will make each of them independent of the other and will suffice them in what concerns them. It is said that He will enrich the husband with another wife, and the wife with another husband.

"...from His abundance," meaning from His richness and power. In this lies consolation for both spouses after divorce. It is also said that it is a warning to them against separating; regardless, it is qualified by the will of Allah Almighty.

"...And Allah is ever Vast," meaning rich and sufficient for His creation, or powerful, or knowing,

"...Wise," perfect in His actions and His decrees.
