(That) is a demonstrative referring to everything previously established for the obedient, or to the excellence and merit of those bestowed with favor. It is the mubtada’ (subject), and His saying, glory be to Him: (the bounty) is its adjective, while His saying, the Exalted: (from Allah) is its khabar (predicate). That is to say: that great bounty is from Allah the Exalted, not from anyone else.

Abu al-Baqa’ permitted that (the bounty) be the khabar, and (from Allah) be related to a deleted phrase that serves as a state (hal) derived from it, with the agent being the meaning of the demonstration. It is also permissible for it to be a second khabar—meaning: that which was mentioned is bounty, existing or originating from Allah the Exalted, not that the deeds of the servants necessitate it.

(And sufficient is Allah as All-Knowing) regarding the reward of those who obey Him, the measures of bounty, and the worthiness of its recipients in accordance with the promise; so trust in what He informs you. (And none can inform you like one who is All-Acquainted).

It is also said: And sufficient is He, glory be to Him, as All-Knowing of the disobedient, the obedient, the hypocrites, the sincere, those fit for the companionship of these, and those who are not.
