Say, "I have been forbidden to worship those whom you call upon besides Allah, when the clear proofs have come to me from my Lord"—meaning the arguments and signs, or [it refers to] the signs because they confirm the proofs of reason and alert [the mind] to them, for the revealed verses are interpreters of the cosmic signs in the horizons and within the selves—"and I have been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds"—meaning, to surrender to Him, Exalted is He, and to dedicate my religion sincerely to Him, the Mighty and Majestic.
