Tafsir of Ad-Dukhan 44:38

"And We did not create the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them" (meaning: whatever is between the two categories, and this is inclusive of whatever is between the layers).

Ubayd ibn Umayr read it as "and whatever is between both of them" (ma baynahuma), where the pronoun refers to the entirety of the heavens and the earth.

Meaning: acting in vain. This is evidence for the occurrence of the Resurrection, as has passed in [the Surah of] al-Anbiya and elsewhere.
