Tafsir
Verse range: 50:39
(So be patient over what they say), meaning: what the polytheists say regarding the Resurrection, of falsehoods based upon improbability and denial; for He who was able to create the world in that short duration without fatigue is surely able to resurrect them and take vengeance upon them. Or, [it refers to] what the Jews say regarding their statements of disbelief and anthropomorphism.
The speech is connected to His, the Almighty’s, saying: (And We have indeed created), etc., based on both interpretations. In al-Kashf, it is stated that according to the first interpretation, it is connected to the beginning of the Surah up to this point, and that this is more appropriate than connecting it to the verse (And We have indeed created), because the discourse is interconnected until this point, as is not hidden from one who seeks guidance.
You know that the closest [connection] regarding both interpretations is what we have mentioned. (And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord), meaning: declare Him, the Almighty, exalted above inability regarding what is possible, and above the occurrence of contradiction in His reports—among which is the report of the occurrence of the Resurrection—and declare Him, the Mighty and Majestic, exalted above being described in a way that necessitates anthropomorphism, or declare Him exalted above every deficiency, including what was mentioned, while praising Him, the Almighty, for the blessings He has bestowed upon you, such as attaining the truth and others.
