Surah At-Tur 52:10



ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ

And the mountains will pass on, departing -

(And the mountains shall move with a [great] moving)

[They shall be moved] from the face of the earth, becoming scattered dust. The employment of the two verbal nouns (in the forms tasyīru and sayran) serves to signal their strangeness and their departure from customary limits; that is, a wondrous undulating and a marvelous moving, the essence of which cannot be comprehended.
