Verse range: 52:22
[22] That is, We will increase them—beyond the elements of luxury they already possess—time after time, with whatever they desire of various delights and diverse blessings. The root of al-madd (extension/supplying) is al-jarr (pulling/drawing), from which comes al-mudda (a period of extended time). It then became commonly used for increase. Al-imdad (providing) is predominantly used for that which is beloved, while al-madd is used for that which is detested. The concept of it being "time after time" is inherent in the meaning of al-madd itself.
