Tafsir of An-Najm 53:17

"The sight did not swerve" (i.e., the eyesight of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, did not deviate from what he saw).

"Nor did it transgress" (nor did it exceed it; rather, he affirmed it with a true and certain affirmation. This is a confirmation of the matter and a negation of any doubt regarding it. Or, it means he did not turn away from beholding the wonders he was commanded to behold, nor did he exceed them toward that which he was not commanded to behold).
