Tafsir
Verse range: 53:3
"And he does not speak"—that is, the Prophet (may Allah Almighty bless him and grant him peace), as his mention preceded in His (Glorified be He) saying: "your companion." The word nutq (speaking) implies the meaning of "issuing forth," which is why it is constructed with the particle ‘an (from) in His saying: "from desire (al-hawa)."
It has been said: [The particle ‘an] is in the sense of ba (by/with), and it is not that which is intended; rather, it means that his speech, regarding what he brings to you from His (Almighty and Majestic) side—such as the Quran—or what he speaks regarding the Quran, does not issue from the desire of his own soul or his own opinion at all. For the intent is the continuity of negation, as has passed repeatedly in its counterparts.
