And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation
Tafsir
Verse range: 53:47
Meaning: The bringing to life after death, in fulfillment of His promise, may His glory be exalted.
In al-Bahr [al-Muhit]: Since the disbelievers deny this bringing-forth, emphasis is placed by the words of the Exalted: "upon Him," as if He, the Exalted, has rendered it obligatory upon Himself.
In al-Kashshaf: He, the Glorified, said: "upon Him" because it is necessary according to wisdom, so that He may recompense [people] for [their] good and evil deeds. In this, despite it being a path of the Mu'tazila, there is a point to be considered.
Ibn Kathir and Abu ‘Amr recited al-nash’ah (the bringing-forth) with a prolonged vowel (alif-mamdudah), and it is also an infinitive (masdar) of the triliteral verb nasha’a.
