Tafsir
Verse range: 54:27
(Indeed, We are senders of the she-camel...) This is an inception introduced to explain the principles of what was promised, according to what is apparent. By this, it is determined that what is meant by "tomorrow" is the time the worldly punishment would descend upon them, not the Day of Resurrection. The literal meaning of irsal (sending) is dispatching, but it is used here as a metonym for bringing forth, while intending the literal meaning along with it, as some eminent scholars have indicated. That is: We are bringing forth the she-camel which they requested from the mountain slope, and sending it (as a trial for them)—as a test. It is also permissible to keep it upon its well-known meaning. (So watch them)—await them and what they will do. (And be patient)—regarding their harm, and do not be hasty until the command of Allah the Exalted comes.
