Tafsir
Verse range: 55:28
{So which of the favors of your Lord will you both deny?}
This is among the implications of what has been mentioned, for passing away [from this world] is the gateway to persistence, eternal life, and being rewarded with everlasting grace.
Al-Tayyibi said: The intended meaning of the preceding verse is the necessary consequence of its literal sense, as it is a metonymy for the arrival of the time of recompense, which is among the greatest of favors. For this reason, [the attributes] "Majesty and Honor" were specifically mentioned, as they denote both reward and punishment. The intent behind this is to instill fear in the servants and warn them against committing acts that result in punishment, and such a warning is itself a favor. Thus, the Almighty’s saying, {So which of the favors...}, was sequenced after it with the fa (conjunction). But this [interpretation] is not quite that.
