Tafsir
Verse range: 55:49-50
"So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?" (49)
"In them are two springs flowing." (50)
This is another description for the "two gardens," or a second predicate for the implied subject, meaning: in each of them, there are two springs flowing with clear, limpid water. One of the springs is called Tasnim and the other is Salsabil; this has been narrated from al-Hasan.
Atiyah al-Awfi said: "Two springs—one of them is of water not altered, and the other is of wine, delicious to those who drink it."
It is also said: "Two springs of water that flow wherever their owner wishes, from the heights and the depths, from a mountain of musk."
From Ibn Abbas: "Two springs like those of the worldly life, but doubled and redoubled, flowing with abundance and honor for the people of Paradise."
