(Follow that which has been revealed to you from your Lord) That is: persist in what you are upon of practicing what has been revealed to you of laws and rulings, the pillar of which is monotheism. The mention of the title of Lordship, along with the attribution to his pronoun—peace and blessings be upon him—contains a manifestation of kindness toward him, peace and blessings be upon him, that is not hidden. The prepositional phrase (from your Lord) may be linked to "revealed," or it may be a state (hal) referring to the pronoun of the elevated object within it, or it may be a state referring to the pronoun to which it refers.

(There is no god except Him) It is possible that this is a parenthetical sentence between the conjunct and the conjunction, intended to emphasize the necessity of following, especially in the matter of monotheism. Abu al-Baqa and others permitted it to be an emphatic state (hal) referring to "your Lord," meaning: He is unique in Divinity.

(And turn away from the polytheists) That is: do not heed their false sayings—among which is what was narrated from them previously—do not care for them, and do not pay attention to their harm. According to this, there is no abrogation in the verse. It is narrated from Ibn Abbas—may Allah be pleased with both of them—that it is abrogated by the Verse of the Sword; thus, the "turning away" would be interpreted as covering the command to refrain from them.
