And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allah untruth while he is being invited to Islam. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

Tafsir
Verse range: 61:7
Meaning: Which of the people is more severely unjust than one who is invited to Islam—which would lead him to the felicity of both abodes—and in place of responding, he responds with fabrication against Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, by belying His Messenger and labeling His signs as magic? For indeed, fabrication against Allah, the Exalted, encompasses denying what is established and affirming what is negated. That is, there is no one more unjust than that, and the intent is that he is more unjust than every other unjust person.
Talhah read "yadda‘ī" (يَدَّعِي) as the imperfect tense of "idda‘ā" (ادعى), constructed in the active voice, with the pronoun referring to Allah, the Exalted. "Yadda‘ī" is here in the sense of "yad‘ū" (يَدْعُو - he calls); it is said: "da‘āhu" and "adda‘āhu" (he called him), similar to "lamasahu" and "iltamasahu" (he touched/sought him).
It has been said: The subject is the pronoun of the fabricator, and "idda‘ā" usually takes a direct object, but because it is implied here with the meaning of affiliation and attribution, it is connected with "ilā" (to). That is: He attributes himself to Islam, claiming he is a Muslim while he is not.
From him (Talhah) also: "yud‘ā" (يُدْعَى) as the imperfect tense of "idda‘ā," but constructed in the passive voice, and its meaning is as previously mentioned.
The verse concerns those among this nation [the Ummah] who lie, according to what the subsequent [verses] necessitate. And if it were [referring] to the Children of Israel—to whom Jesus, peace be upon him, came—then it contains support for those who hold the view that "Islam" is not restricted to the true religion brought by our Prophet, may Allah, the Exalted, bless him and grant him peace.
Meaning: He does not direct them to that which contains their salvation, due to their poor disposition and their lack of turning toward Him.
