(It is He who sent His Messenger...)

(It is He who sent His Messenger) [Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace] (with the guidance) [the Quran, or the miracle, by making that the essence of guidance as an intensification (of expression)] (and the religion of truth) [the Hanifite faith] (to make it prevail over all religion) [to exalt it above all religions that oppose it. Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, has fulfilled His promise, as He established it such that no religion remains except that it is overcome and subdued by the religion of Islam].

It is narrated from Mujahid that when Jesus, peace be upon him, descends, there will be no religion on earth except Islam. It does not contradict this that which has been reported, that there will come a time upon people in which nothing of Islam remains but its name, for there is no indication of continuity in the verse. It has been said: The intended meaning of "making it prevail" is exaltation by way of the clarity of evidence and the brilliance of proofs, and that is a matter that is continuous forever. (Even if the polytheists dislike it) [that, because it contains pure monotheism and the annulment of polytheism]. It was read: "It is He who sent His Prophet."
