But they will not wish for it, ever, because of what their hands have put forth. And Allah is Knowing of the wrongdoers.

Tafsir
Verse range: 62:7
This is an informative statement regarding their future state, which is that they will not wish for death. This is specific—as a group of scholars have stated—to those who were addressed [at that time]. It is narrated that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah exalt him and grant him peace) said to them: "By Him in whose hand is my soul, not one of you will say it without choking on his saliva." Consequently, none of them wished for it. This was only because they were certain of his truthfulness (upon him be prayer and peace), and they knew that if they were to wish for it, they would indeed wish for their own hour [of death] and the threat would befall them. This is one of the miracles.
The negation of the wish appears in another verse using lan (لن), which is a matter of stylistic variation (tafannun) according to the well-known position that both la (لا) and lan (لن) are for the negation of the future without [implying] emphasis. As for the one who says that lan provides emphasis, the reason for the specificity of the emphasis in that [other] location is that they claimed exclusivity [in being God's allies] over all other people in both instances, and in that place, they added that it is a manifest matter concerning which there is no doubt in the sight of Allah, so it was appropriate to emphasize what negates it.
The ba (ب) in His, the Glorified’s, saying: (Because of what their hands have sent ahead) is causal, linked to what the negation implies—meaning: they refrain from wishing for it because of what they have sent ahead. It is also permissible to link it to the negation itself, as if it were said: their wishing for it is negated because of what they have sent ahead, just as it was said regarding His saying: “You are not, by the favor of your Lord, a madman.”
What is intended by "what their hands have sent ahead" is disbelief and acts of disobedience, which necessitate entry into the Fire. Since the hand, among all the human limbs, is the focus of most of one's actions, it is sometimes used to express the soul and other times to express [one's] power.
"And Allah is All-Knowing of the wrongdoers." Meaning: He is knowledgeable of them. The preference for the explicit noun over the pronoun is to condemn them and to seal upon them [the verdict] that they are wrongdoers in everything they do and leave, among the matters which include claiming that which they are far removed from. The sentence is a concluding remark (tadhyil) to what preceded it, confirming what was indicated regarding their evil deeds and how those deeds necessitate punishment. That is to say: Allah the Exalted is All-Knowing of the various types of wrongdoing and disobedience that have issued from them and of what will issue from them, and He will recompense them for that.
