Tafsir of At-Taghabun 64:17

If you loan Allah (meaning: if you spend wealth in the channels that He, the Almighty and Majestic, has designated). In this expression, there is a metaphorical representation (isti'arah tamthiliyyah).

(a goodly loan) (meaning: accompanied by sincerity and a willing soul).

(He will multiply it for you) (meaning: His Majesty will make one unit become ten, up to seven hundred, and even more; it has also been read as yud'ifuhu [He doubles it for you]).

(and He will forgive you) (meaning: through the blessing of this spending, He will forgive what has occurred from you of some sins).

(And Allah is Appreciative) (meaning: He gives much in exchange for the very little).

(Forbearing) (meaning: He does not hasten the punishment, despite the multitude of sins).
