Tafsir
Verse range: 67:23
"Hearts."
"Little do you thank."
That is to say, [you do not thank for] these blessings by, for example, utilizing the hearing to listen to the revealed verses in a manner that yields benefit; or the vision to contemplate the creational signs that bear witness to the affairs of Allah—the Almighty and Majestic; or the hearts to ponder upon what you hear and witness.
The word "little" (qalilan) is in the accusative case as an attribute of an implied verbal noun—that is, "a little thanks." The word "what" (ma) is an intensive particle used to emphasize the scarcity. The sentence is in the state of an estimated condition, and the scarcity is to be understood literally, or as implying negation if the address is directed at the disbelievers. It is also permissible for the sentence to be considered a new inception (musta’nafa), though the first interpretation is superior.
