Verse range: 68:23
They set off, whispering among themselves, meaning: consulting one another by way of lowering their voices. Khafata (to lower the voice), khafita (with a fatha on the fa), khafta, and khafada—all three carry the meaning of concealment. From this root comes al-khafud (the bat), and al-khafud (a she-camel that aborts her fetus before its form has become distinct).
