And I grant them respite (wa-umlī lahum)
And I delay them so that they may increase in sin, while they falsely imagine that this is because of [My] desiring good for them.
Indeed, My plan is firm (inna kaydī matīn)
It cannot be repelled by anything. It is termed a "plan" (kayd)—which is a form of deception—due to its outward appearance; for He, Glory be to Him, does with them that which is outwardly a benefit for them, yet His intent, Almighty and Exalted is He, in doing so is their harm, because of what is known of the corruption of their nature and their persistence in disbelief and ingratitude.
