Surah Al-Qalam 68:47



ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ

Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?

Or do they have the Unseen?

Meaning: the things that are hidden, or the Preserved Tablet. The term "the Unseen" is applied to it metaphorically, because it is the place where the unseen is recorded, or because the forms of those things appear upon it, based on the well-known scholarly disagreement regarding it. The contextual evidence is:

So they record [it]

[Meaning:] what they judge, and by doing so, they dispense with the need for your knowledge.
