Tafsir of Al-A'raf 7:110

(He wants to drive you out of your land), meaning the land of Egypt. (So what do you advise?), that is, what is your counsel regarding his affair? Ibn Abbas interpreted it as such, for it is derived from al-amr (the command/matter) in the sense of consultation. It is said: "I consulted him (āmartuhu), and he advised me (fa-āmarani)," meaning I sought his counsel, and he signaled to me. It is also said that it is from the conventional meaning of "command."

("What") is in the accusative position as the object of ("advise"), with the omission of the preposition; that is, "About what do you advise?" It is also said that ("What" - mā) is a predicate placed at the beginning, and ("this" - dha) is a relative pronoun acting as a delayed subject, meaning: "What is the thing that you advise?"
