Tafsir of Al-A'raf 7:114

This is a conjunction appended to an implicit statement, which is the very same as the preceding discourse indicated by the particle of affirmation (na'am). Such a structure is termed a "conjunction of prompting" ('atf al-talqin). Whoever states that it is conjoined to the preceding clause intends exactly what we have mentioned.

The meaning is: "Indeed, you shall have a reward, and along with that, you shall be among those brought near." That is to say, I shall not limit myself to giving you a reward alone; rather, along with it, you shall have something even greater: proximity and high standing. For one who is granted something only finds true satisfaction and joy in it when, alongside it, they attain honor and status. In this lies an evident exaggeration in encouragement and incitement.

It is narrated from al-Kalbi that he [Pharaoh] said to them: "You shall be the first to enter my assembly and the last to leave it."
