Tafsir of Al-A'raf 7:67

(He said), peace be upon him, seeking to soften their hearts or win them over: "O my people, there is no foolishness in me," meaning not even a trace of it, let alone being firmly established in it as you have claimed. "But I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds."

The message from Him, the Exalted, necessitates being characterized by the utmost rectitude and truthfulness. He, peace be upon him, did not explicitly deny lying, as what is contained within the clause of rectification (the istidrak) is sufficient. It has been said: Lying is a type of foolishness; therefore, denying the latter necessitates the denial of the former.

The particle "from" (min) denotes the beginning of the source metaphorically, and it is linked to an omitted element that serves as an adjective for "messenger," reinforcing the greatness already conveyed by the tanwin (indefinite marking)—which denotes intrinsic magnificence—with extrinsic magnificence.
