And as for the *Qasitun* (the deviators)

And as for the Qasitun: those who deviate from the path of Islam.

They shall be fuel for Hell: they shall be kindled, just as the disbelievers among mankind are kindled.

It has been argued that the statement, "So whoever submits..." is a continuation of the speech of the Jinn. Ibn Atiyyah stated that the most evident interpretation is that it is an address from Allah (Exalted is He) to His Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and this is supported by the verses that follow it.

In al-Kashshaf, it is asserted that whoever does not believe in the reward of the Jinn maintains that Allah (Exalted is He) threatened their deviators but did not promise anything to those among them who submit, yet that is sufficient as a promise, for He (Glorified be He) says, "Those have sought out rectitude," thereby mentioning the cause for the reward. Allah (Mighty and Majestic is He) is far too just to punish the deviator without rewarding the one who seeks rectitude; and this is manifest in that it is the speech of Allah (Mighty and Majestic is He).
