Tafsir
Verse range: 75:11
(Nay!) A deterrence from seeking or wishing for a place to flee. (There is no refuge); there is no shelter. Its root refers to an inaccessible mountain, which was commonly used as a place of escape for the Arabs. It is derived from al-wazir, meaning a heavy burden or weight. It then became widespread and became a literal term for any place of refuge, whether it be a mountain, a fortress, a weapon, a person, or anything else. From this is the saying:
By your life, the youth has no refuge From death when it overtakes him, nor from old age.
