Tafsir of Al-Qiyamah 75:24

"And faces, that Day, will be basirah," meaning intensely frowning. Basil is more eloquent than basir regarding what has been mentioned, but it [the term basil] has become predominantly used for a brave person when their sternness intensifies. Therefore, it was avoided to prevent the implication of a meaning that is not intended. What is meant by these faces are the faces of the disbelievers.
