Al-Mursalat: (19) Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

"Woe, that Day"—meaning the day when We destroyed them—"to the deniers" of the signs of Allah the Exalted and His prophets, peace be upon them.

There is no repetition here, for the first "woe" refers to the punishment of the Hereafter, while this one refers to the punishment of the worldly life. Furthermore, there is no repetition due to the difference in what the deniers are associated with in the two instances; for here, its association is what you have heard (i.e., the destruction of the former nations), whereas in the preceding verse it was associated with the "Day of Distinction" and the like. The same can be said for what follows thereafter. It is also permissible to consider them identical, for emphasis is a virtuous matter in which there is no harm.
