Surah An-Nazi'at 79:24
ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ
And said, "I am your most exalted lord."
ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ
And said, "I am your most exalted lord."
Tafsir
Verse range: 79:24
“So he said, ‘I am your lord, the Most High.’”
As for the second interpretation, there is an implied omission in it; meaning, he said—Pharaoh saying—"I am your lord," etc., along with the figurative usage present in the second [interpretation].
In some traditions, it is mentioned that he stood among them as an orator and spoke that grandiose statement; the accursed one intended thereby to elevate himself above all those who govern their affairs.
