(For indeed, Paradise is the abode) for him, and none other. It is apparent that this detailed exposition is general, applying to both the people of the Fire and the people of Paradise.

It is narrated from Ibn Abbas that the two verses were revealed regarding Abu Aziz ibn Umayr and his brother Mus'ab ibn Umayr—may Allah the Exalted be pleased with him. The former was a transgressor who preferred the life of this world, while Mus'ab was one who feared the standing before his Lord and restrained his soul from desire. He protected the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, with his own self on the day of Uhud when the people dispersed from him, until the arrowheads—meaning the arrows—penetrated his interior. When the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saw him wallowing in his blood, he said, "I account you with Allah the Exalted," and he said to his companions, "I have seen him wearing two garments whose value cannot be known, and the strap of his sandal was of gold."

When his brother Abu Aziz was captured, [Mus'ab] did not bind him firmly out of honor for him. When he was told of this, he said, "He is not my brother; bind your prisoner firmly, for his mother possesses the most jewelry and wealth of all the people of al-Batha." It is stated in al-Kashshaf that he killed his brother Abu Aziz on the day of Uhud.

It is also narrated from Ibn Abbas that the two verses were revealed regarding Abu Jahl and Mus'ab. It has also been said that the first was revealed regarding al-Nadr and his son al-Harith, who were famous for their excessive disbelief and transgression.
