Tafsir
Verse range: 80:22
"Then, when He wills, He will resurrect him." This means: When He wills, He will resurrect him. This follows the well-known principle regarding the omission of the object of the will, and the suspension of the resurrection upon His Exalted will—an indication that its time is not fixed at all; rather, it is subordinate to His will. This is in contrast to [the term of] life (al-amānah), for its time is broadly fixed, as is customary in natural lifespans. The same is the case for the time of approaching [death]; in fact, it is even more evident in that regard.
Shu'ayb ibn al-Hajjāj—as stated in the book al-Lawāmi'—and Ibn Abī Hamzah—as stated in the tafsir of Ibn 'Atiyyah—read it as nasharahu without the hamzah. They are two linguistic variations for bringing to life. And regarding His Exalted saying...
