Tafsir
Verse range: 81:19
"Indeed, it is," meaning the majestic Qur'an, which speaks of the aforementioned terrifying calamities—and making the pronoun refer to the news of the Resurrection and Gathering is far-fetched. "The word of a messenger," who is, as Ibn Abbas, Qatadah, and the majority have stated, Jibril (peace be upon him). It is attributed to him (peace be upon him) because he is the intermediary for it and the transmitter of it from its Sender, who is Allah (Mighty and Majestic is He). "Noble," meaning dear to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). It is also said: [he is one who is] compassionate toward the believers.
