Tafsir of Al-Mutaffifeen 83:16

"Then, they will surely enter the Hellfire," meaning they will suffer its heat, according to what Al-Khalil stated. It is also said that it means they will enter into it.

As for the particle "then" (thumma), it is said to denote a sequence in rank. However, based on their perspective, the burning in Hellfire is more severe to them than their being veiled from their Lord—Mighty and Majestic is He. As for the believers, especially those among them who are enamored with Him—Glorified is He—being veiled is a torment that no other torment approaches.
