But they who disbelieved in Our signs - those are the companions of the left.

{And they who disbelieved in Our signs...}

{And they who disbelieved in Our signs}—meaning what We have established as evidence for the Truth, whether it be a scripture or a proof, or specifically the Quran—{are the companions of the left}, meaning the direction of the left, wherein are the wretched, or those who bring misfortune upon themselves and upon others.
