And [by] the earth and He who spread it
ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ
And [by] the earth and He who spread it
Tafsir
Verse range: 91:6
"And the earth and He who spread it," meaning He extended it from every side and flattened it, just as He spread it out (dahaha). Taha can also mean "to go away," as in the saying of Alqama: "Your heart has been driven away (taha) by the beautiful women, yearning, after the prime of youth and the time when gray hair has approached." It also carries the meaning of being high and elevated, and among their oaths is: "By the moon that rises (al-tahi)." It is said taha, yat-hu, tahwan and taha, yat-hi, tahyan.
