Surah Az-Zukhruf 43:54



ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ ﲖ

So he bluffed his people, and they obeyed him. Indeed, they were [themselves] a people defiantly disobedient [of Allah].

فاستخف قومه فٲطاعوه

Thus he fooled his people, and they obeyed him. meaning, he confused them and invited them to misguidance, and they responded to him.

إنهم كانوا قوما فاسقين

Verily, they were ever a people who were rebellious. Then Allah says:

فلما آسفونا انتقمنا منهم فٲغرقناهم أجمعين
