Surah An-Nas (The Mankind): Verse 5

The Almighty's saying: ${ \text{The one who whispers into the breasts of mankind} }.

Know that the word { \text{the one who whispers} } (الذى يوسوس) can take three different case endings (vocalizations) in its grammatical position:

  1. Genitive (Jar): If it is taken as an adjective (Sifah) describing the preceding noun (Al-Khannas).
  2. Nominative (Rafʿ): If it is taken as a separate statement (a new sentence).
  3. Accusative (Nasb): If it is taken as an object of abuse or condemnation (Shitm).

It is preferable for the reciter to pause after Al-Khannas (The Retreating One) and begin the next phrase with Alladhi Yawaswisu (The one who whispers) based on one of these two latter interpretations (Nominative or Accusative).

[Continuation from the previous verse]: { \text{from the Jinn and mankind} }$.
