Tafsir
Verse range: 2:39
The Almighty's saying: {And those who disbelieve and deny Our verses, those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.}
When Allah promised the follower of guidance security from punishment and sorrow, He followed it by mentioning those for whom He has prepared eternal punishment, saying: {And those who disbelieve and deny Our verses}. Whether they are from humankind or from the jinn, they are the companions of eternal punishment.
As for the discussion on whether punishment is good (justifiable) or not, and if it is justifiable, whether it is justifiable eternally or not, that discussion has already preceded in the exegesis of His saying: {And over their eyes is a covering, and for them is a great punishment} (Al-Baqarah: 7).
Here ends the verses indicating the blessings Allah has bestowed upon all of Adam's progeny. These verses indicate Tawhid (Monotheism), in that these blessings are contingent, created things, and thus must have a Creator. They also indicate Prophethood, because Muhammad (peace be upon him) informed about them, agreeing with what was present in the Torah and the Injil without learning or being a student of anyone. Furthermore, they indicate the Hereafter (Ma'ad), because the One capable of creating these things initially is also capable of recreating them. And by Allah is success.
