Tafsir
Verse range: 33:48
**... and do not obey the disbelievers.**
This indicates a warning: oppose them and confront them.
Based on this, the Almighty's saying:
**And abandon their harm**
means, leave their harm to God, for He will punish them by your hands and with fire. This is clarified by the Almighty's saying:
**And rely upon God; and sufficient is God as a Trustee (Wakīl).**
This means God is sufficient for His servant. Some Mu'tazilites argue that God should not be named al-Wakīl (The Trustee/Agent) because the agent is inferior to the one who appoints him.
The Almighty's saying, "And sufficient is God as a Trustee," is a refutation of their weak suspicion. This is because an agent might be appointed to elevate status, or he might be appointed due to inability. God is the Trustee for His servants because of their inability to manage affairs.
The sufficiency of God as a Trustee becomes clear when one considers the reasons why a single agent might not suffice:
God Almighty is All-Knowing, All-Powerful, and self-sufficient; thus, He is sufficient as a Trustee.
**O you who have believed, when you marry believing women and then divorce them before you have touched them, then there is for you against them no waiting period to count.**
**So give them a provision (mat'ah) and release them with a beautiful release.**
