Al-Ahzab (33:64-65)

Then the Almighty said:

{Indeed, Allah has cursed the disbelievers and prepared for them a Blaze,} {Abiding therein forever.}

This means that just as they are cursed in this world in your view, so too are they cursed by Allah.

{And He has prepared for them a Blaze}

As Allah the Almighty also said: {Allah has cursed them in this world and the Hereafter and has prepared for them a humiliating punishment} (Al-Ahzab: 57).

{Abiding therein forever} (Al-Ma'idah: 119)

Meaning they will remain in it, continuing without any limit to their departure.

And His saying:

{They will not find any protector or helper.}

After mentioning their eternal dwelling, He confirms it. This is because the one being punished cannot be saved from torment except by a close friend who intercedes for him or a helper who repels it from him. But they will have neither a protector to intercede nor a helper to repel.

The Day of Reckoning

{On the Day when their faces will be turned over in the Fire, they will say, "Oh, we wish we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger!} {And they will say, "Our Lord, indeed we obeyed our masters and our great ones, and they led us astray from the [right] way.} {Our Lord, give them double the punishment and curse them with a great curse!"}
