Surah Saba' (Verse 25)

Original Text Segment:

Translation:

He attributed the crime (or wrongdoing) to the self (Nafs) and said concerning them: {And We will not be questioned about what you do} (referring to the disbelievers' actions).

He mentioned it using the term 'amal (action/deed) so that the anger (or indignation) which prevents understanding would not arise.

The repetition of the negation—{You will not be questioned} and {We will not be questioned}—is an added incentive to reflect (or consider the consequences). This is because everyone, if held accountable only for their own crime, will be saved if they refrain (from wrongdoing). If the innocent were also held accountable for the crime, mere reflection would not suffice (to ensure salvation).

Original Text Segment:

Translation:

Then the Almighty said: {Say, "Our Lord will gather us together, then He will judge between us with truth, and He is the All-Judge, the All-Knowing."}
