Surah Saba' (Verse 26)

(Continuation of the discussion regarding the Day of Judgment and accountability)

He emphasized what necessitates reflection and contemplation, because mere error and misguidance must be avoided. How much more so when it is the Day of Presentation, Reckoning, Reward, and Punishment.

Regarding the phrase: {He will judge} (yaftaḥu): It is said this means "He will rule." It is also possible that al-fatḥ (opening) here is metaphorical. This is because a closed door or blocked passage is said to be "opened" in a literal sense. When a matter is obscure and inaccessible, whoever clarifies it is said to have "opened" it.

His statement: {And He is the Opener (or Judge), the All-Knowing} (wa huwa al-Fattāḥ al-ʿAlīm) indicates that His judgment is accompanied by knowledge, unlike the judgment of one who rules based merely on his whims.

Verse 26

{Say: "Show me those whom you have joined with Him as partners." Nay, but He is Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.}

Then, the Almighty said: {Say: "Show me those whom you have joined with Him as partners." Nay, but He is Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.}
